Can see shadows in every view except...

I have a comp with text and a light. If I view it using any view (ie top, left, Coustom View) I can see the shadows cast by the light, but for some reason in my active camera, there are no shadows - Does anybody know what's going on? I have AE CS4.

Thank you all

Any other layers ''in front'' of the 3D stuff? Layer styles and a few other things always break 3D rendering when viewing ''through'' such layers, but the scen may appear normal from otehr angles....

I tried shutting off all other layers, but I still can't see them, but I don't understand why I would have to shut off layers because that affects the final outcome, so I would never get it to look the way I want?! That makes no sense. Is this a bug in After Effects that they just won't fix? That seems really weird to me...

Most likely it's not a bug, but really an issue with your layers. Either you are intermingling 2D and 3D layers in undesirable ways, or a feature attached to the layer breaks the 3D rendering. I really suggest you look over it again. For the layer styles in particular, right-click and choose Layer Styles --%26gt; Remove All. Just deleting a drop shadow in the timeline for instance is not enough, as it leaves the top level blending options for the layer styles in place and those count, too. A single such layer is enough to mess up things, even if you hide the other layers. should that not be the issue, then posting some screenshots or the project itself might help us to track down the problem.
