When I compare NEFs rendered by Lr with the corresponding JPEGs generated in-camera by my D700, I observe clear cases of chromatic aberration in the NEFs which are not present in the JPEGs (see my blog entry for examples). This is apparently an effect that could be fixed in Lr, much like that which was fixed by the introduction of camera-specific development profiles in Lr 2.4 (which I considered a major plus). I manage to fix this problem by adjusting the sliders and 3-way switch in Lr's chromatic aberration panel, but IMHO it'd be very useful to have an automatic fix applied (if one so wishes) to all NEFs. It requires knowledge of the characteristics of the lens and sensor used to produce the NEF, which is available from the EXIF data. The same would apply to other makes of sensor-lens combinations. Many more such cases than for the color rendition fix that only depended on the sensor. But, hey, I'd rather see Lr improve so I can continue to use it as I learn more !
Cheers,
