Is this what I need?

I was looking at MovieFactory and Cyberlink Director 8 Ultra and other non Adobe editing software just to give you an idea of what I want to do. However I want to stay with Adobe products.?I am new to all this post editing, so I want to ask a few questions before I purchase Adobe Premier Elements-7.?I am using CS3 with Windows Vista 64 bit.?1.) I have a 50 minute fully edited HD project full of cuts, transitions, titles and effects.?Is this software intended to add menus, chapter points, animation, and some cool special effects to an already edited project??In other words polish it up for viewing on a desktop DVD player.?2.) I shot and edit in HD. Will PSE-7 convert this to Standard DVD??Thanks Jim

That is correct. I am using PrPo CS3.?I have Encore on my computer, but I can't seem to get it to open. I will need to investigate further. Thanks Jim

Jim,

Regarding Encore, please post your problems HERE. Please list your system specs. and you will get help.

See you there,

Hunt

PS - Encore is a great authoring program and will allow you to do much more than almost any other authoring program, %26lt; US$25,000.

As for downconverting, yes, both Premiere Pro CS3 and Premiere Elements 7 will convert most formats to most any other formats (although, they are video editors first, and there are more efficient conversion programs if all you want to do is convert or downsample).

But much depends on the source of your footage. Hi-def video from a AVCHD or HDV tape-based camcorder, yes.

Hi-def video from a cheap ''webbie'' camcorder, like the Flip, not so much.

Thanks Steve: My source is HDV tape from a Canon HV-20 camcorder. I'm still

trying to get Encore running. I can't wait to play with Encore and try it

out on my project. I will be all done when I do.
