running vista sp2 4gb ram inspiron 1525 dual.?made a couple of videos and recently closed last project before done, large project, now i can't even open old, new or anything without getting this message.?have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and everthing i have found from other threads to no avail. Hate to lose this project as it took me couple of days to make it, so hope there is help for this.?Sometimes get message about default catalog and read one thread about moving this, but do not know how!?Any help would be greatly appreciated!?Thanks

Well, it worked one day, but not the next. That indicates that something has changed. The trick is to find out what has changed.
Here are the usual suspects:
1.) video driver - these get killed even by simple OS updates. The fix is to get the latest and install that.
2.) audio driver - these get killed even by simple OS updates. The fix is to get the latest and install that.
3.) QuickTime Player - check that you have the latest one (7.6.2, IIRC)
