Hi,
This shouldn't be a tough question, but I just can't seem to figure it out.?If I have a calculation setup like so:?Entry field for height, and entry field for weight.?This through a calculation = BSA.?What if the BSA is 2.02 and I want to on the form type in 2.0 for rounding.?Is it possible to setup the field so that you can change it after a calculation is performed.
Thanks, Chris
Calculation questionHave you looked at using the ''Format'' tab and setting the number of decimals to display?
Calculation questionI didn't word that very well.?Having it round works in some instances.. but say a person is large and the BSA is 3.5...and I don't want that and decide to change it to 2.5.?When I physically type that in it changes it back to 3.5 because of the calculation.?Any way to allow it to use what you type in over the calculated number.
thanks, chris
I recently had the same problem and I couldn't find a solution for it.
If a field's value is determined by a calculation then you can't manually enter data into it, it seems.
Hmmm..?that is frustrating.?It seems Adobe didn't think this out too well
Actually, when you think about it, it makes sense. How is the application
supposed to decide which value to use?
I agree that they could have found a better solution, though. They could
have made the field read-only by default when it's value is determined by a
calculation.
The only other option is to delete the custom calculation script when a
manual value is entered, but this is not Excel where you only have a single
line formule which can be easily removed. Deleting a script can influence
countless other things...
Well you could provide a provision to allow for the override of the calculation, think check box, and when this item is selected the calculation is not performed and what is typed in is not overridden.
Sort of like giving a placebo in writing.
